Piedmont ICT Observatory (PICTO) is an inter-institutional research group for advancing the knowledge of ICT penetration in society. PICTO’s mandate is to undertake research about ICT diffusion and support regional government in carrying out assignments in the field of ICT.
PICTO was founded in 2004 by the Piedmont Region and involves the main regional centers dealing with ICT research and management: CSI-Piemonte, CSP, IMB, Turin Polytechnic and IRES Piemonte.
PICTO provides assistance to broadband policy programs.
PICTO’s main tasks:
- Conduct research in ICT penetration in the regional society and make comparative analyses at national and European level;
- Support regional government in ICT policy
- Disseminate ICT information in the regional community
